Right now I dont see a playoff team in the Pac 12 or Big 12 :patrice:

I think Washington and OU respectively have a chance. But currently I dont see a clear favorite in those conferences this season
If Stanford ever get their shyt together every week i'd like to see them play somebody thats a blue blood

If they beat Auburn, Udub has as good of a chance as anyone else. Their conference schedule lines up nicely missing out on SC and Arizona, the two favorites in the South. Even with a loss to auburn, Udub would most likely be ok as long as they finish out.

I would say Stanford as well, but the California rule kills the CA schools for scheduling. Stanford even with a lot returning is due for 2 losses (UW, Oregon or ND).

OU has a tough out of conference schedule with FAU, UCLA, Army. I’d expect them to drop one of them, most likely being against Army. I think Texas makes the leap back as a conference contender and OKST takes with replacing Washington and Rudolph. Big 12 is going to have a rough path next year, but OU should still be in the talks.

OK state probably bout to go back to being irrelevant. Seems like they get a good QB/WR combo once every 5 years or so

With their main rival game and each alumni base wanting a reason to annually road trip to Northern/Southern Cal, the four CA schools are required to play every year. The other Pac 12 schools get to dodge one CA school per year that’s outside of their division.

For example, compare Stanford and Washington.

Washington conference sched last year

@Colorado
@Oregon St
Cal
@ ASU
UCLA
Oregon
@Stanford
Utah
Wazzu

No Arizona
No SC

Stanford

@ USC
UCLA (always alternates Home/Road between the two LA schools)
ASU
@ Utah
Oregon
@ Oregon St
@ Wazzu
Washington
Cal (The Big Game Rivalry)

No Arizona
No Colorado

Same schedule for both schools this year except the road/home will switch. Washington have the clear conference schedule advantage because they dodge SC instead of one of the mountain schools.

Also, befause of the CA rule, the LA schools alternate between Oregon St/Wazzu and Oregon/UW every two years. Whoever has OSU/Wazzu for two years will be at a scheduling advantage for the time being. SC is that team now.
