As i ALWAYS say, it's all about player development when you get players on campus and that's what seperates Urban and Saban from the rest.
Last night looked like a high school all american game with how many true freshmen were playing and contributing last night.
I feel it goes hand in hand. When you're hired by a blue blood school, you get a boost in recruiting for the first couple of years because of the history of the program.
Once you are winning with all-american upperclassmen at each position group, the underclassmen are not only being developed by the coaches, but also practicing all year long with the best players in the country learning techniques they wouldn't elsewhere. Hence why it is a easy transition for a Tua and a Najee, on top of their own talent, to come in making an immediate impact on the game, especially later on in the season like last night.
The gift of Urban and Saban is their unrivaled CEO ability to evaluate, vet and hire staff who are BOTH recruiters and Xs & Os coaches. With having top recruits and being able to afford minimum losses of talent at each position year in and year out, they are able to sustain that culture of winning letting everything play out from there.
That's why I also think Smart at Georgia will remain a force for years to come and why Harbaugh's time at Michigan is starting to look shaky with the lack of staff continuity.
We'll see what Pruitt and Mullen can do with their new elite jobs now that they have the chance to shake up the balance of the SEC East and add onto the continued dominance of the SEC.
