Picked up another big recruit at running back.....Next few years are setting up nicely for a Malzahn offense ran by a dual threat qb......

Nah...Richt did the same thing in his 2nd year too....it was just no BCS or playoffs then. UGA won the SEC in 2002 and finished like 13-1 and #3 in the final poll that year. (I remember that game because I used to FWB a girl that was at UGA at that time and they played Clemson and USuCk in the first to games that year).
If Kirby has them in 3 SEC title games in the first 5 years...winning 2 of them then I'd have that convo. To me right now he has that new car smell to him....still using CMR's players ...so they'll side eye him just like they did CMR soon enough...esp. if Mullens turn UF around sooner than later.

Smart will accomplish more IMO. Richt was there 15 years and most of those years were meh. The state of GA is has a lot of good talent. No excuse for that. Smart will get the most out these players. Smart also has to deal with Saban in his peak. Richt didn't in his early years.
I saw Kirby's face on the sideline after that loss. This was their best opportunity to get one. Lots of seniors playing. 2 backs that will get NFL looks. Now he's recruiting well, but the game is changing in the SEC East now also. Mullen at Florida, and Tennessee should start to get better with their new coach. Muschamp put up some fight with South Carolina this year, and he'll keep a respectable defense.

Nah, but I just don't see the road being as easy for them as it was this year. McElwain and Butch Jones were no match for Kirby in the coaching department. They just have to catch up now with some better recruiting. Tennesse might actually be in a better position than Florida right now to go at it with Georgia. Butch got some recruits in there.
Anyway, we have 8 months to think about all of this.....On to basketball

nikkaz sleeping on UT cause it's the fun thing to do but I think Pruitt gonna have them right back to being a top 15-20 squad in a few years if he's just not a complete joke of a HC. Talent was NEVER the issue there, just late game execution.

He recruited Arizona well at A&M. He got Kyle Allen and Cristian Kirk who both were the top player in that state when they committed
