someone help me understand the move from a Big 12 school to an AAC school...I stan G5 schools, FCS and HBCU teams, but you know you have no shot at going to the playoffs coaching Houston. Why go there instead of another P5 team?
Bad relationship between Holgorsen and the admin at WVU. And money. But the G5 teams have a shot if they schedule harder and dominate their schedule. If UCF didn't struggle in half of their games this year they would have had a better chance. And he can always leave Houston in a few years when a better job opens up that's pretty much what Houston has become anyway, a stepping stone. Which P5 jobs are even open right now?

They gave him the bag; he's in a big recruiting state (texas), with less pressure than at a P5 school. If he's able to make some noise there, he might be able to finesse a big program if the chance comes up. :yeshrug:

State's defense is beastly. If they could seriously ever get a decent offense they could seriously challenge Bama for the SEC West. The MS State game this year was the ONLY time I ever saw the Tide's O-line seriously struggling

The Houston Cougars are finalizing a deal to make Dana Holgorsen their next head coach and are expected to announce his hire as early as Tuesday, a source with knowledge of the search told ESPN.

The West Virginia coach, who is 61-41 with the Mountaineers, will receive a five-year contract worth $20 million, the source said. It would make him the highest-paid coach of a Group of 5 program.

Looks like both Dana and WVU happy to part ways. Wonder who they go after

Houston like UCF & USF is probably one of the most relaxed jobs in college football, in a state surrounded by a ton of talent and you don't have to play the most dominant teams in the state on a yearly basis.

And Houston schedules hard AF unlike UCF, so if they ever do run the table they're most likely getting in like they would have in 2016.

Starting off next year with OU & then Wazzu :whew:
