had more free time back then. I used to follow recruiting alot closer. Gus has pissed me off on recruiting more than anything else tbh
All these high rank classes and everyone transferringthen we get on the field and wonder where the explosion at.

we all forgot but he had two players gunned down at parties. Had changed up the entire offense and defense because he saw flaws in malzahn back then. However he knew how to get his guys up.
Malzahn fed us on his luck and trickeration but when it every play you know any sane coach gonna stop respecting the fluff and thats why unless we get the opposing team tired we the ones going three and out
Gene was an elite CEO type coach, which is coincidentally all we've been asking Gus to be for the past 3 seasons. He hired a guy who had a (at the time) good defensive scheme for an elite offense and hired an elite OC, ST coordinator, and weight room guy. Kept some of the best defensive coordinators in the game. If he had the freedom to hire his guys and run the team his way like Gus, we woulda been aight in 2011. fakkit ass board of trustees nuked Gus (and your boy Kiehl in the process) and then made us go pro style with an entire roster of spread talent.

the tampa 2 was a bad look, I respected the bend dont break but you coulda found someone better than ted roof I agree. Ill say this about the recruiting tho, he led a zoo culture wise and recruited alot of guys who loved that rowdy typa locker room, but he got some talented guys. trenches were good on both ends, they just prioritized finesse over power. Simply put, our players looked like pussies against UA and LSU because of that and the practicesit boiled down to recruiting and wanting to go toe-to-toe with Bama over the same kind of players (short sighted)

with the coordinator hires, IDEK there. They were both terrible hires, BVG is a scumbag and has been trash since he's left us, the Tom Brady developer guy (his main accolade) seemed to be respected, and it wasnt his type of talent, but that offense gives me bad flashbacks.
