I thought I was the only one who kinda felt like that, the offense in most of these games is Maybe they should consider having the WBC right after the World series so the hitters aren't rusty.

the other pool had nothing but offense though.

yo I had no clue Brasilians were that into baseball. I always thought the top 3 sports in the country were football, basketball and then volleyball.

It's a niche sport and something the majority of the country doesn't follow, but in areas with high Japanese populations it's huge. Most of the guys currently playing in the Minors or Majors are either part Japanese, grew up in a Japanese community, or had a Japanese coach take them under their wing when they were young. Baseball is for the Japanese in Brasil, what NASCAR is for rednecks in the U.S.

And now MLB is starting to develop academies, so you're seeing more kids that realize that they don't have a chance in soccer pick up the game.
