This safety class is really deep with guys that actually have experience in coverage.
Peppers needed to be 6'1'' and run a 4.3 like the Michigan hype machine wanted u to believe for him to be a first round pick. He will fade into obscurity with all of the talent at safety and cb tmo
I'm probably the only critic of Peppers on this board who is a Michigan fan, so spare me.
You said he can't cover anyone and now you're backtracking. He covered plenty of slot receivers, TEs and picked up plenty of running backs every year he's been here. Under Hoke (briefly) and Durkin he played SS and NB. Under Brown he played a hybrid NB/LB/SS role and still covered those positions, he just blitzed and spied on mobile QBs as well.The main knock on Peppers coverage comes from when Hoke and, very briefly, Durkin tried to use him a pure corner. He's a little tight in the hips, like other safeties, as they say -- so he struggles against top end receivers.
