Mans gotten more chances than any other black head coach in CFB in recent memory. Can't feel bad for him at this point. Consistent top 10 talent, consistent mediocrity, consistent late season chokes

Well one thing I consistently saw was they didn't have the power running game they needed to really compete until the end in the SEC. When they ran up against Alabama and LSUs defense, they were not effective. Plus the defensive break downs late in the season too. Unless he has a running game this year, which is probably unlikely, I don't think he'll be there next year. Unfortunate for him and unfortunate for the black coach #s in the SEC, but he did get a pretty fair shot.

Still have to have the players....and they just lost some good ones on the defensive line from last year. They also run up against some good teams, so it's just tough for A&M. Potentially though, with the right coaches, they could have a run in the SEC. Sumlin just happened to be the guinea pig to find out what they actually needed to compete in the SEC. If some coach had to coach A&M for a few years in the SEC before he got there, I think he would have had a better idea and a better chance. But it didn't happen that way so
