The defense didnt get exposed. they had to play 99 plays( Most plays ever against a Saban team) against the best QB in college.
Hurts was a better passer during the year but ever since the LSU game we did less and less in the passing game.
Yes, he's a true freshman so you can't expect him to be throwing players open and making audibles to exploit the defense but no one is criticizing him for that.
