Not athlete wise. WAY more speed on this defense. We have always had some juco scrub or 4th year guy who really isnt that good starting at the other corner this is the first time we will have 2 studs. Last year was supposed to be but Marlon got exposed a bit.
I don't care about star numbers, I care about how good the actual defense is. Clemson & Ole Miss lit that Bama secondary the fukk up the past two seasons. Nobody was doing that to the 2011 Bama defense

Until they face decent spread QB and get exposed again
I mean we will give up some plays. Its impossible not to against these offenses. But talent wise this is the best we have had. A lot will depend on our Dline. Need to find out whos going to step up

We didn't play an offense anywhere near Ole Miss or Clemsons in 2011. Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss, Miss State all sucked that year

Didn't allow anyone(in FBS) over 14 points all year :yeshrug:
Only Ole Miss scored more than 14 against us in the regular season. Arkansas dont count they started putting up #s after we jumped out to a 30 point lead and backed off. We didn't give up a TD the last month of the season. And in 2011 we didn't have to play a SEC champ game or first round playoff game. Or have to face Clemsons offense, just Les Miles offense.

Predicting the Top 20 Offenses of the 2017 College Football Season

  1. Holding down the top spot as the most effective, efficient and electric offense that could carry its team to a championship level is Clay Helton's USC Trojans.

With rising sophomore quarterback Sam Darnold at the helm, the Trojans are the emerging darlings of college football after a dismal stretch for the program over the past few years and the forgettable regimes of Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian.

USC's rousing Rose Bowl comeback win over Penn State capped a brilliant season that started with Darnold on the bench watching the Trojans get shellacked by Alabama. That team came further than any other through the course of the season.

"USC is back in the national spotlight," Sporting News' Bill Bender wrote. "The question now is whether the Trojans can handle the high expectations in 2017 after a 10-3 season that culminated with a thrilling 52-49 victory against Penn State in the 2017 Rose Bowl Game."

The answer is yes because of Darnold and the offense.:banderas:

Yes, Juju Smith-Schuster is gone, but Deontay Burnett is capable of being a No. 1 receiver. Daniel Imatorbhebhe leads a group of players who should make up a talented stable of receiving options.

At running back, blossoming star Ronald Jones II is back following a 1,000-yard campaign, and Aca'Cedric Ware looks like he could be a playmaker, too. That's not even mentioning the jewel of USC's star-studded class in running back Stephen Carr.

There's just too much talent on that side of the ball for there to be any drop-off at all. This is the year USC lights up the scoreboard and wins big.
Jarrett Stidham will be throwing to 4 potential NFL receivers

FSU been cranking out DB's to the league recently

X, Jalen, Darby, Joyner, PJ, Terrence Brooks, and Marquez White should be drafted. Rhodes and Ramsey are both top 10 CB's

Derwin and TMac up next. Charles Kelly need to be fired if they struggle out they gate again

Im hyped about Stanford Samuels III he should be good too
