Ohio State has been the only class to sit at No. 1 since the rankings for this recruiting cycle were released, and the Buckeyes are showing no signs of relinquishing their spot. The Buckeyes added commitments from two different but talented playmaking wide receivers in
Trevon Grimes -- a tall, lengthy target with soft hands and excellent body control -- and
Tyjon Lindsey, a more diminutive but quick and fluid target who can create problems when he gets in space. These two additions now brings the Buckeyes total of ESPN 300 commitments to an impressive 16.
Oklahoma moved back on the cusp of the top five with its second commitment from an ESPN 300 prospect out of California in No. 16 OLB
Addison Gumbs, an aggressive defender with the ability to come off the edge and get after the quarterback. Three of the four 2015 CFB Playoff participants now have top-10 classes with Clemson moving to No. 10 and joining Alabama and Oklahoma. The Tigers landed a verbal from No. 9 CB
A.J. Terrell, a tall, rangy, athletic corner with terrific instincts.
The state of South Carolina saw another mover in the class rankings as the Gamecocks landed their third commitment from an ESPN 300 prospect in the month of August with the addition of DT
M.J. Webb. They jumped up to No. 17.
