Recruiting is only half the battle.
Every team with a top 5 class basically has the same talent potential. Same thing with teams in the 5-10 range. And so on. And FYI, Tennessee and Ohio State have recruited essentially the same talent in 2014 and 2015 (both were top 5 classes). I would also take our 2013 class (which included Josh Dobbs, Cam Sutton, and Jalen Reeves-Maybin) over your epic 2013 class right now because our guys will be playing college football in 2016 while your guys are in the NFL. The only class you've really out recruited us in the last 4 years is 2016.
After you land that top 5 class, its about evaluation and development. We'll now see whose staff was better evaluating and developing.
I shyt on Butch Jones for many things but evaluating talent isn't one of them. Remember, at Central Michigan, Butch Jones recruited JJ Watt, Antonio Brown, and Eric Fisher. That's 2 future HOFers and a guy who was drafted #1 overall.
Butch Jones probably can't coach but he can evaluate and recruit talent.
