The BASELINE for this defense is where we was at during the Ole Miss game and on, pretty average, once Carl Lawson came back

but after some massive recruiting gains and natural development, we're expected to be a pretty good unit. We got some defensive line depth, around 8 or 9 deep. I forgot who we hired at DB coach to replace TRob (who brought out the good in Countess), but he's pretty good from what I've remembered. Our first two CBs up is Carlton Davis, a preseason all SEC 3rd team as a freshman and likely Jamel Dean, who was supposedly our best DB in practices last year, but wasn't eligible. He's an OSU transfer, so I think @smitty22 and them will cape for his ability. We deep there too

We can be a top 30ish type unit, but for us to be elite of the elite, our LBs gotta develop
Dean was a recruit who didnt get cleared by tOSU doctors to play so he transfered. Hope the best for the kid.

If 2010 Bama actually played to their full potential :merchant:

#1 Alabama vs #2 Auburn on a Friday afternoon (probably would've got moved to Friday Night) in Tuscaloosa :wow:

Then probably would've got that Alabama/Oregon matchup that everyone wanted to see at the time.

If J.T and Urb figures out the offense, you might have something :takedat:
JT set the B1G single season record for tds just 2 years ago. JT wasnt fully recovered from breaking his ankle last year. A lot of other variables that went into the offense ups n downs last year. They figured it out last couple games. Our o line is young for the most part, it will come down to them this year :lupe:

Bro its the same situation. A. you nikkas have massive talent departures every fukkin year, so coming into that as a new coordinator is hard. B. you fell from a top 10 team to a top 30 type, you expect a new coordinator to maintain something like that first year, you're stupid, we're just looking for improvement. C. Steele's entire work is cut ahead of him, literally all he has to do is find out a scheme that puts his linebackers in as good a position as possible, and he's good. D. fukk LSU

:pachaha: Watchu talkin bout we had damn near the same defense That's no excuse. Yu say Yu looking for improvement Yu not gon get it with this dude. His scheme is complex they were talkin he needs a good 4 years to implement his system.

Which defending champ underachieved most past 15 years

02 Miami
05 USC
10 Bama
14 FSU
15 OSU
Some great teams there with all the talent to repeat, id have to go 05 USC. Took a all time great performance by Vince to beat them, but id choose them as most underachieving
