Well you can definitely say that SEC QB star power has decreased since 2013. QB play has been pretty bad in the SEC, it's in the rebuilding process though. That group with McCarron, Marshall, Manziel, Mettenberger, Murray, Franklin, and Shaw was absolutely special

I was talking more about the SEC than the rest of the country. But I agree, well Tebow stayed for year and Jameis actually won the heisman and title in Johnny's last year, but for the rest they had two years max being the stars.

To me, CFB popularity is at it's peak when it has the polarizing figure or heel that people want to see week in and week out.
