I prefer Butch Jones strategy.

Recruit athletic tackle bodies on the offensive line. If they can't make it out there, move them inside.

And move guys who can't make it at DT to guard. Those guys tend to be more athletic than guys who play at guard at high school.

Jashon Robertson is a preseason All-SEC guard for us and he was recruited as a 3 star DT. He couldn't make it there, moved to guard and was a freshmen all-american. I'll take that any day.

High school guards are typically very unathletic and have sloppy bodies.

You prefer Butch's way of building a team over a 3 time national champion coach's way? You really are the WOAT in so many ways.

When it comes to recruiting hell yeah. He's a terrible gameday coach but he knows how to acquire talent. He doesn't have Meyer's pedigree or recruiting base but he has a good eye for talent.

Remember at Central Michigan, he recruited JJ Watt and Antonio Brown. They were part of his first recruiting class. Both were 2 stars that have become top 5 players in the NFL. He also recruited Eric Fisher who went on to become #1 pick in the 2013 draft.

Butch Jones is terrible at coaching but he knows how to find talent.

Butch actually uses many of the same strategies Meyer does. They've known each other for a while. They run the same type of spread offense predicated on power running.

Plus Butch does the same black stripe ritual for incoming freshmen.

We'll see if Butch can actually coach. But he's pretty good with off-field stuff. He can recruit with the best and is great at actual talent evaluation.
