The kid they have now is/can be pretty good. Les is just too stupid to maximize it, he should be used in the same way JT Barrett is.

They went read option for 1 SERIES :mindblown: vs Bama last season and it was the only time their offense did anything
That shyt ain't gonna work with a dual threat type QB in a Pro-style system. Square peg in a round hole

They visited Herman? :ohhh: Expect to see a lot of those pump passes then like we used with Ridley last season. One of the CFB preseason publications predicted y'all to lose to AU :skip:

If it's one game we had to lose next year....it's that one....as long as it's a close one. Running the table....beating Free Shoes U, The Honey Bees, and the Crotchbirds enroute to another playoff spot

Did Dobbs take that next step last yr? I remember after the 2014 season, I was like Dobbs is gonna be a problem, one of the reasons I had Tenn winning the east. How would you rate his 2015 season? He definitely got to take that leap this season.

Leap didn't happen for two reasons. (1) All his experienced receivers got hurt or were kicked off the team. (2) Butch Jones went ultra conservative and only let Dobbs throw when we fell behind 24-3 against Georgia. Dobbs responded with his best game ever that day. 300+ yards passing. 100+ yards rushing. 5 TDs.

More experience at WR plus Butch Jones hopefully taking the reigns off Dobbs should lead to that breakout season.

Speaking of QBs, I think it's gonna be a while before the SEC has a group of good to elite QBs like in 2013.

McCarron
Manziel
Murray
Mettenberger
Marshall
Shaw
Franklin

:whew:
Theres some recent talented qbs out high school in the sec now.

I wasn't impress with Dobbs in the spring game Watson 100x better than that clown

Watson is my 2nd favorite QB in the country so I don't mind of folks like him better. But you're sleeping on Dobbs. Don't let the stat sheet fool ya. Butch Jones is an ultra conservative that has Dobbs pretty much in shackles till he has no choice but to use him.

I'll leave you with this nugget.

In the last 18 games (since Dobbs officially became the starter), Tennessee has trailed by 14 or more points just TWICE. Against South Carolina in 2014 and Georgia in 2015. Being down 2+ TDs, Butch had NO CHOICE but to let Dobbs take over the offense. Josh responded in those 2 games by leading the Vols to stunning come from behind victories while tallying 300+ yards passing and 100+ yards rushing in each game.

He's only the 2nd player in SEC history with at least 2 career 300+ passing and 100+ rushing games. The other is heisman trophy winner Johnny Manziel.

That's just a long way of saying, Dobbs is real good once Butch Jones gets out the way.

Dobbs ain't on Watson's level :martin:

He's as talented as Watson maybe even moreso. A lil bigger. A lil faster. A lot smarter.

The difference between the two is mainly coaching.

Watson has a coach that believes in him and will put the game in his hands from the jump.

Dobbs on the other hand has a ultra conservative control freak who won't ever let him loose unless he has no choice and is down by 2 or more TDs.

It's possible we don't see Dobbs true talent till he becomes a pro.
