Because he is an outstanding player on offense, defense, and special teams.

Separately, he scores touchdowns on special teams and is the most dangerous player in the country returning.

Offensively he score two TDs yesterday and is a threat on every play with the ball.

Defensively he is maybe the best blitzing lb in the nation, and complete deads the flats, forcing teams to throw deep leading to interceptions for the safety and CBs. (This is the stuff you don't understand about football...peppers' ability to kill the flat on his side, and apply pressure to the qb, while stuffing runs, forces teams to pass when they know that they shouldn't. Combine that with the edge pressure from Gary, and line play by taco and others, leads to multiple INTs a game...Michigan's defense is deadly....thanks to peppers...this doesn't show up in statlines).
