At least one Miami fan wants Al Golden removed as head coach so much so he is willing to pay for banners to be flown over the stadium before the Hurricanes' games. One Florida State fan want the exact opposite, and will combat the Miami fan's banners with one of his own if he can get the help.
Joseph Johnson, presumably a Seminoles fan, started a gofundme page to help pay for a plane to fly a banner over Florida State's stadium when Miami travels to Tallahassee on Oct. 10. Johnson's banner will ask Miami administration to keep Golden at the school. Golden is 0-4 against Florida State.
"Al Golden has done a terrific job in keeping Miami irrelevant, Cane fans want him gone," Johnson wrote on the donation page. "However in Tallahassee we love Coach Golden, that's why we want to show our love in 3 weeks when the canes come to Tallahassee, with a banner that will fly over the stadium...for an hour.
Johnson wrote the banner is to "encourage Miami not to fire Coach Golden."
Before Miami's overtime win against Nebraska on Saturday, a game in which Miami blew a 23-point lead,
a banner above Sun Life Stadium read "C'MON, #FIREALGOLDEN THESE BANNERS ARE EXPENSIVE." Before Miami's Week 2 game at FAU, a banner promoted the idea of Butch Davis returning as the Hurricanes' coach in 2016 in order to "make Miami great again."
As of 2:10 p.m. ET Tuesday, 10 people donated a total of $130 to Johnson's cause. He is seeking $500. Trent Jacobs, who donated $10, wrote "Al Golden is our most important recruiting asset in the State of Florida right now. We MUST make sure we make him feel special so that relationship can continue! Lol Go Nole!"
Noles fans know they can always win while Al Folden is still the Head Coach of the U, I can't even get mad at them for it.
