Can someone explain to me what makes Julius Randle such an elite prospect? How did he land at #7 the way people talk about him he should of easily been #4...It seems like he became a better prospect on a broken leg.
So we aren't going to talk about Randle like he didn't carry Kentucky with nothing but freshmen's to the title game on his back. Everyone says he is Z-BO which is more good than a bad thing, but he has much more of perimeter ordinated game and has very good handles for a big man his size. He has a really good first step off the dribble, which most big men won't be able to stop, and he has been working on his jumpshot. Besides the obvious first 3 players that went in the 2014 draft, Randle has more potential than Gordon, Exum & Smart that went before him imo.

How did he last to #7? He should of been #4 or in the argument for top 3.

UK is always nothing but Freshman

And him coming off a broken leg won't negate anything?

Are we 100% positive that Clarkson isn't just a product of receiving playing time on a team where he had opportunities to score and play more?
Yes. It's easy to see who benefits from a system and opportunity(bum ass Kendall Marshall) and one who actually can ball. Clarkson fell in the draft because of a bad season where he had to deal with his father having cancer which affected him on the court. Someone said on a forum that if Clarkson was a lottery pick literally no one would question him. Why isn't Wiggins getting the same concerns?

He was considered the most ready prospect coming out the draft and he was up there with Dougie McDermott as the best player in all of college basketball. But, he had foot injury concerns and people started focusing on his weaknesses/potential weaknesses like his height & wingspan, no outside game, defending at the next level, which was valid reasons, but he has the athletic tools to be a really productive player. Plus the teams went more for need, as the Jazz already had Favors/Kanter/Gobert, Magic felt Gordon could be Shawn Marion jack of all trades type of player that could play the 3 & 4 and help better defensively and Celtics needed a replacement for Rondo. Lakers got arguably the best college basketball player that most had going in the top 5 for most of the lead up to the draft at 7.

I don't know what to say about Randle. This kid is a fukking beast. He was literally unguardable in the college game, by anyone. He was routinely triple teamed, I literally even saw him get quadruple teamed. He is a tank, extremely quick and agile for how fukking big he is. He's bullish strong, he has a decent hook shot but is at his best at breaking people down off the dribble from the top of the key. He is quick and has fantastic handles for a 6'9 250 pound PF. He get a good jumper and its a fukking wrap. People will continue to complain that he can't play defense because of his wingspan, but with his quickness and strength he can be a fine defender in time. He is a tenacious rebounder, especially offensive rebounds. Kid is going to make every team who passed on him regret it.

I think Randle is more Paul Trillsap then Z-Bo.

Eric Pincus: I'd have to look closely - but if Aldridge IS leaving would Blazers want Julius Randle, Ryan Kelly, Nick Young + say Wes Johnson?
Eric Pincus: Neil Olshey traded for Nick Young when with the Clippers - FYI
:to: Please not Prince Julius.

Clarkson put up garbage stats on a garbage team. You should brace your standards for him. Theres a reason y'all drafted russell
youd have an argument if his usage was off the charts but it wasnt....and he was efficient. He's probably gonna start next year along with Russell

Lakers would be one willing taker for non-guaranteed contract of Cavs C Brendan Haywood. Question is, would LA have anything Cavs want back?
