Wait, is that Cuttino Mobley?
Wait, is that Cuttino Mobley?
On the one hand...Jimmer should eat so good in the Spurs motion offense...especially on the nights duncan turns back the clock and teams are dumb enough to double LMA...it's going to be a pre game warmup shoot around for perimeter players...
On the other hand...he failed last year doing the same thing playing around AD...but the pelicans offense was kind of
At 6 "2" he not really big enough to play the two and Patty going to have to fall off a cliff for Pop to give Jimmy his minutes at the point...
But at least they got somebody who should be able to do for them what Boss Belli did...
You're right about the Pelicans offense being but I'm sure it will look different now that Monty is out of the picture (I do like him as a head coach, though, he'll do well in another spot some day). Regardless of the coach - I like Holiday, I like Tyreke and I like Gordon but they can't all play together. They need to break that guard clan up and try to trade one for a bigger wing that can space the floor better.
I think that's probably the biggest reason the Pelicans offense is awkward, they don't have enough spacing and all of their guards want to create with the ball. They can't take the next step without another big piece anyway, but they need some more balance on the perimeter.
Pels need more shooting and a good wing defender to complement Davis/Asik in the 2nd line. Their defensive potential is fukkin crazy
@jaguar paw getting kind of close to the deadline for Haywood, gonna trade him for an exception?
the improvement in his handle
the improvement in his handle
the improvement in his handle
That's the word.
The exception makes the most sense. They could use it next summer.
The cap unexpected cap jump this summer (extra couple of million) really hurt any leverage they had at saving a team money. The deals that were presented to them weren't that appealing (financially or basketball wise).
Like it's relatively stupid to trade for Joe Johnson and pay him all that money plus tax when you can simply go after him next summer when he's a free agent.
