Demarcus Cousins hasn't played with a pass first true pg his whole career yet, add in his play making abilities from the post there's no reason to think that if he's healthy and the main focus he can't lead them to the 7th or 8th seed despite the fukkery potential of the squad.

According to Jody Genessy of Deseret News, there is a chance that the Jazz could look to trade Trey Lyles.
Lyles hasn't been practicing with the Jazz because he still hasn't signed a contract, but Utah is likely just saving their cap space right now. This is just speculation right now, so we will let you know if there is anything in the works. For now, expect Lyles to be in a Jazz uniform next season

You know there's been some bad contracts handed out when you scroll past something like "bringing Smith back for 15-16" and you firstly assume that that's the money being talked about....

They don't want to sign him until they use their available cap space on FA. They can then go over the cap to sign Lyles. On the flip Lyles won't workout until he has some guarantee of a signed contract in case of injury or something crazy.
