He's definitely better than Bass. Amir Johnson's legit and he's still relatively young. He has the qualities to succeed as a post presence so Boston will be a good move for his career as he'll presumably be getting more minutes. I'm not mad at this move one bit.

The 2 biggest needs for the Suns this offseason was veteran leadership and frontcourt depth. Tyson Chandler fills both of those needs(on paper). 13 million a year and he'll be 37 when that contract expires though. The contract doesn't look good but the Suns are desperate to win now.
