florida doesnt have the state locked down like they did under meyer for obvious reasons. its not like there arent other great schools close by who are trying to get the same talent. they cant just pick whoever they want anymore

Urban Meyer didnt have to deal with jimbo fisher and al golden back in the day. those schools were down. and the SEC was less competitive. it was easier to lock down the state then, that it is now.

The state of texas is kind of going through the same situation. more good schools to go around means the talent spreads out

back in the day jim tressel was famous :wow: for putting a fence..like an actual fence around the state of ohio. michigan couldnt pull anyone from there.

Louisiana was like this for a bit for anyone other than Alabama. It's decreased since they've fallen off but LSU having no competition in the state + other regions in the South also having talent that is easier to get = the dominance

That not true Louisiana kids as a whole dont really have state pride. Go to recruiting sites and look up Louisiana rankings you going to see kids committed to schools from all over.

yea those are the obvious reasons i was talking about. just a lot more competition these days. texas is definitely going through that right now. its cool to go to a&m, baylor and tcu now

it's like that now in alabama. if alabama or auburn wants someone instate they are getting them.

having great recruiters that can go into a hotbed area is important as well. mario cristobal's been getting studs for us out of miami and kevin steele stayed stealing players from louisiana. too bad hes coaching at lsu now
