I've got Kentucky as a sleeper. About to knock some heads off this year
LOL

Absolutely no reason to believe that besides "a feeling".

Look at this garbage way to end the season

Oct. 11 ULM Warhawks Won 48-14 ---
Oct. 18 at LSU Tigers Lost 41-3 ---
Oct. 25 Mississippi State Bulldogs Lost 45-31 ---
Nov. 1 at Missouri Tigers Lost 20-10 ---
Nov. 8 Georgia Bulldogs Lost 63-31 ---
Nov. 15 at Tennessee Volunteers Lost 50-16
Nov. 29 at Louisville Cardinals Lost 44-40

Giving up 63 at home to a beat up Georgia and 50 to the WOAT TN team.

Sleeper? Gtfoh they're just bad

Never would've thought Baylor and TCU would be the best teams in the Big 12 ahead of Texas & Oklahoma. :wow:

Big 12 was a once more prestigious conference, some years it was the best conference. ESPN/Longhorn Network caused all of this

why does Longhorn Network always get blamed when this shyt comes up. Longhorn Network came after all of the moves. Longhorn Network was the result of a conference channel being rejected, then a Big XII south network being rejected, then a Lone Star network being rejected, then an A&M-Texas network being rejected. LHN didn't show up until 2011. Colorado was the school that started all of this. The left before there was any drama and Tom Osbourne panicked. Let's not forget the Pac-12 went after Colorado, and the B1G went after Nebraska. A&M wanted to join the SEC when Arkansas left and again in 1995 when they were headed to the Pac with Texas. The Pac-10 was always aggressive with courting the Big 8 schools and they finally got Colorado to move. Why is this glossed over. A&M had long had people trying to seperate it from Texas. It was nothing new. They just happened to have an A&M dominated political scene at the time.

Our season may start on Sept. 5, but the real analysis starts the week after when Oklahoma travels to Knoxville(Tennessee).

I hope our defensive issues have been resolved, because it will be a long season if they aren't. I think in the trenches, it's a push in the sense that Tennessee may have a slight advantage because we lost 3 starting OL and all of our quality depth. We'll see if our OL coach will make men out of the OL that have been riding the bench. Tennessee wants this game, so the defense will most definitely play inspired ball. I can see this game being similar to OU/FSU 2010.

As far as offense, I believe it's a push as well, except at the RB position. IMHO, OU has the advantage, but what good will that do with a new OL with one game under their belt? Tennessee has names, OU has names, most only semi proven or untested(especially OU'S WR corp... they need to step up this year.)

Tennessee wins big or OU wins very close.

@jadillac I see you are ready for this season. What are your expectations for this season?

Well I knew A&M and Texas long had beef, I was referring more to Nebraska, Colorado, and Missouri. But thanks for the explanation, a Lone Star Network would've been dope :ohhh:

Colorado leaving had nothing to do with Texas. They long wanted the Pac, and the Pac courted them when they reached out.

Missouri had been complaining about the Big 12 from the get. They long wanted to be part of the B1G. Nebraska closed that for them so they had the opportunity to go SEC and they took it. If they didn't take it, they risked being left if the teams in the south ever left. Of course their fans will forget they were bytching about the Big 10 in the 90s. All we did was witness a dissolving of schools that didn't want to be there.

anyways, Charlie making moves:

Ryan Autullo
‏@AutulloAAS Strong said he will not release Du’Vonta Lampkin because he doesn’t want to set precedent that recruits can fail course and go elsewhere.

:salute:

Lampkin signed a LOI with Texas. He had to pass a couple of Spanish courses and chose not to take them with hopes of letting the LOI run out when Texas didn't accept him. So he could enroll in Oklahoma and play this fall. Texas could release him now or wait until the last day of registration. Looks like Charlie will hold him until the last day, meaning he can't get a scholly until next semester. Folks will say let the kid go, but :birdman:the kid is intentionally screwing Texas. Scholly could have gone elsewhere. Have to stop it somewhere or kids will do this and schools will tamper. Not accusing OU of tampering, but it looks suspicious.

LOL @ this kid. Strong wants to wring his neck

AnwarRichardson: #Longhorns coach Charlie Strong said he doesn't intend to release Du'Vonta Lampkin from his scholarship.
BDavisAAS: Strong on Lampkin's Spanish issue: "When you pass one part of the course, you going to tell me you can’t pass the other part of it?"
mikefinger: Strong on Oklahoma and Lampkin: "I don't know if they tampered or not."
AnwarRichardson: #Longhorns coach Charlie Strong said Du'Vonta Lampkin knew what was expected of him when he signed
