There were those that felt he wouldn't fit here at UT, and if Charlie doesn't succeed they'd probably feel like they were right. Patterson is a football coach in every sense, he wouldn't want the media obligations and the whole hoopla that comes with being a coach at UT. Charlie doesn't seem to like it either.

Don is likely gone. Word was he was going to be given one more year. Then something changed this week, and the word was he was pretty much coaching for his job. Helf did not commit to him in a presser thursday, and people who have good info on Ducks boards where saying something changed. And that usually means Phil stepped in.
