Winston on Harbaugh: "I wish I could have played for him."

Two of college football's best quarterbacks trained with quarterback guru George Whitfield, Jr. at the University of Michigan this week. Former Florida State Heisman winner Jameis Winston and two-time Baylor Big 12 champion Bryce Petty are each preparing for April's NFL Draft, and came away extremely impressed with their time in Ann Arbor, based on their quotes in a video on the Wolverines' site.

Both quarterbacks spoke very highly of the training facilities available and new head coach Jim Harbaugh, a former NFL quarterback himself. With one and possibly two first-round draft picks talking up Michigan's resources so highly, it's hard to think of too many recruiting pitches more effective than this.

On facilities:

Winston: "These guys don't know how blessed they are to have this kind of facility. I mean, Florida State, we're a very prestigious school, we have nice stuff, but we don't have this. I'm sorry, I love Florida State. Go 'Noles till the day I die, but they're so much [more] advanced than us."

(Michigan's 104,000-square foot indoor facility opened in 2009 and is about the same size as FSU's, which opened in 2013. Baylor's is about 73,000 square feet.)

Petty: "This is bar none the best one that I've seen. We've got great ones in Waco, you know I love what we had at Baylor, and so it's cool to kind of see other places, and this is definitely by far one of the best I've seen."

On Harbaugh:

Petty: "If there's anybody that you want to play for as a player, it's a coach like him. Just a fan, energetic guy, passionate about football. From the second he came over here he was sizing up Jameis and wanted to see his grip. He's just a quarterback. And that's the coolest part about playing the position and being coached by somebody that's been there and done that."

Winston: "It was a blessing to meet a guy like that. It was an honor to meet him. All of his accomplishments, and the type of coach that he is, I wish I could have played for him."
