But you're losing money in the long run. Why not just save and get the new gen because your probably gonna end up getting it anyway in the long run. The value of these consoles have severely depleted.

Why spend 200$ for something that will last you a year maybe when you can spend 400$ for something that will last you 8 years is all im saying

I don't know breh. I'm actually going to sell my PS3 and collection because i doubt I'll ever play them seeing as how i haven't played them now. I doubt I play them in the future. And it's just taking up space. I may cancel my PS4 pre-order also. Because honestly outside of NBA 2K14 I don't see any point in getting it.

I'm hoping to get a sleep number bed (though the rep is saying that their current Veteran's Day sale is going to be their biggest sale this year...ionno if that's true or not) and some new living room furniture set and some end tables for the bedroom. Maybe a new dining room set as well. Then there's the always obligatory blu ray buys. I usually cop most of the movies I'll buy for the year thru amazon on BF. Sucks that AZ has amazon tax now, so the savings ain't going to be as great as it used to.

I just don't understand the point of buying a old gen console when the new gen is already out.Like why not just save up some more money and just get the new gen.

If you wanna play old gen stuff than i guess that fie but why pay a retail price for it when you can go anywhere and get it used for half the price.

If someone walked up to me and gave me their xbox360 and PS3 I wouldn't even want it.

because most parents would rather get their kid the older system and save some money as oppose to spend more money and get them less accessories games etc..

If a parent can spend 250 for a PS3 bundle, then 30 for a controller, and another 100 on 3 games, his 8-13 year old is going to have a very merry xmas

I'm not looking for anything major, maybe a decent pair of computer speakers, and if I see a game or two for cheap. Maybe a few movies if I can get them for cheap like $5.00 a pop, I still haven't seen Argo yet. I know I could download it but I'm old school I like having something tangible in my hand. And I'll look around for deals on some of the stuff my girl wants for Xmas but she doesn't want anything too crazy this year.

I have a list of about 16 items. Now I just have to figure out how to be at two places at once.

Can someone clarify Best Buy process, will all of their deals be available online? If so at one time will the deals go live?

i don't think best buy will have those crazy door busters online

here is their process.

black friday gotta deal said:
What is a ticket at Best Buy?

A ticket is a paper that BB employees will pass about 2 hours before the store opens. The ticket holds the product for the ticket holder for the item on the ticket until 11am local time on Black Friday. BB does this to cut down on fights and riots in the store.

What are the tickets for?

No one really knows what BB will put on the ticket system for BF. In the past they have been for items that are in high demand but have limited stock for. In the past few years items included desktops, laptops, cameras (Digital and SLR Film), MP3 players, GPS, TVs (HD, Plasma, LCD, Tube), Printers, and sometimes household items like washer machines.

Is the ticket system company wide or just a local program?

The ticket system is a company wide system. The tickets come from BB HQ and are sent under strict security to the stores about 1 week before BF.

When do they pass out the tickets?

The tickets are passed out the morning of Black Friday about 2-3 hours before the store opens local time.

What happens when they pass out the tickets?

About 2 hours before they open the doors for black friday Best Buy employees will come out of the store and start at the front of the line. One BB worker will have a ticket for an item. He/she will start at the front of the line and go down the line saying "Who wants the $149.99 desktop?". He/she will give each person a ticket until the BB employee runs out. Once the tickets are gone for that item then that is it for that item. BB employee will do this until all of the ticketed items are gone or until they have reached the end of the line.

Once I have a ticket what happens next?

You wait......You wait until the store opens. The BB worker who gave you the ticket will explain to you where to go in the store to pick up your item. Most BB will close there customer service desk to make room for all check out lanes to be open so pay attention on where you are told to go to pick up your item.

Is there a limit on how many tickets I can get?

Most ticketed items are one per a person per an item. For example if you want 1 desktop and 1 digital camera then you will get two tickets. If you want 2 of the SAME item you wont be able to get it since there will be a limit of one per a person. Some stores will even go the extra mile of checking ID's so be ready to show your ID if asked.

Can I get out of line after I get my ticket?

My advice to you would be no. At the BB last year the manager told us and the 6 police officers in FULL tactical gear that if anyone leaves they lose there place in line and ticket.

What time should I get in line for a ticket?

It is hard to say since I don't know what you are wanting to get and where you live. Last year (BF 2008) people started to form lines at BB around 10pm Wednesday and by 12 noon Thanksgiving Day there were already 300 people in line. Most of the people in front of the lines wanted the laptops, desktops and TVs and they were college and high school students. It all depends on the weather as well. My advice....get there early.....Turkey is over rated!

Is there anything else I need to know?

Keep your eyes on this thread. I have sources at BB that will give me updated info if needed. Also remember that BB HQ gives local managers the power to customize the ticket system to fit there own store and community. This FAQ is only created as a guide only. If you have any more questions please post!

This FAQ will be updated throughout the BF season. Below is a sample ticket from BB.

The PS3 can play blurays and stream content .... It can never be a waste of money ..

I'm not sure if the item I want is a "doorbuster" or not. When I look at the ad it states free delivery so I imagine it can be ordered online. There is a Best Buy right around the corner from me, I'd rather not have to go stand in that line when I can be somewhere else if I don't have to. But this purchase is priority.

This is exactly why I'd get one. Bought my daughters a 360 last year on black friday. They aren't heavy gamers like that so getting them the current gen system and some games will last them a long time cause it's all new to them.

I hate this ticket shyt

The employees usually give(or sell) most of them to their friends or family and then only have like 2 or 3 to pass out to people in line :beli:

shyt needs to go back to first come first served

then you would have chaos like walmart, a ticket system works but have managers give out the tickets but 1 per person

Naw the ticket system doesnt work at all

Like I said if you dont know somebody that works there its no point of even getting in line.Maybe its different where youre at but these nikkas here aint giving you no ticket unless you buy it from them

Before the ticket shyt they use to just ask you what you wanted and they would bring it to the register for you, only letting like 5 people in the store at a time...they shouldve left it like that

Ive seen people line up all night then the manager comes out in the morning talking bout "we gave out all the tickets yesterday :troll:"
