Dam...that was always one of my biggest fears

Being stranded at sea:sadcam:

Miles and miles and miles of nothing but water. Imagine being stranded smack dab in the middle of the Pacific:mjcry:

Meh. :manny: The sun or dehydration will kill you before any sea creature has a chance.

Unless its one of those Giant Flying Sharks they got down there. :merchant:

Ain't shyt down there but dirt and some goofy looking critters.

And it ain't CRAZY deep. Earth's crust is like 20 miles at most, meaning the ocean at its deepest could only be 15-17 miles. Psi down there is ridiculous, no point in searching for shyt there. Space is infinitely more interesting.

The smartest animals in the ocean still breathe oxygen. Nothing but dummies at the bottom. Scarce food sources down there too. :russell:

That's an educated guess but we are looking into space and that fact that life does not have to be carbon based lifeforms that assimilate oxygen/nitrogen gasses.Same can be true for our oceans.Life has a way to adapt to it's surroundings, the Tardigrada is great example of an animal that defies those assumtions when it comes to survival in harsh conditions

If the pressure is really high deep in the ocean and can easily crush a human, how come certain animals survive there? :jbhmm:

Different physiology adapted for their environment. Bones (or lack off), respiratory systems etc

Even without bones that kinda pressure would flatten a creature. Probably even squeeze it to death. An elephant balancing on a stamp? No build could survive that.

Somebody gotta explain how creatures can bare that pressure

How would you know? They have found Life in the most barren places and parts of the deep sea where they first believed that no creature would have been able to survive because of the pressure.

Keep being closed minded and doubting that anything can happen in this world. Everybody adapts to their environment and its no different for creatures that live at the bottom of the ocean. they adapt..

That's what I'm thinking. Folks in this thread talking about Atlantis or Aliens or something. like HOW, The pressure wouldn't even allow it to be a possibility.
