The run at the top ended quickly![]()
The MVP-Curse is like the Madden Curse.
YepStat is dishonest, cause his 2nd-best run was in 2020 when they only played 72 games. Denver beat the Jazz and Clippers that year, who would have had 50 wins and 56 wins if you pro-rate their record to an 82-game schedule.
It's still not a great look because they haven't beaten any great teams. But if Denver had taken out Memphis and Cleveland last year instead of the Lakers and Miami, would y'all respect them any more? The 50-win cutoff is completely arbitrary, the better question is whether Denver has beaten any serious title-quality teams. And I'd say the Clippers win in 2020 was impressive because that was a rare healthy Clippers team, but besides that their record is pretty weak.
The greatest bigman they said.
Jokic is the Deontay Wilder of the NBA - media hype + system.

ESPN-stat.
If they beat teams that beat 50 win teams, that’s the same damn thing.
It’s 2024. Players sit out, don’t take the regular season serious (even more so with the play in), the league is more even (not least due to the aforementioned points) and then you have randomness.
How do you have championship fatigue only winning 1 titleWith last night's loss and Denver's 45-point loss in Game 6, this is one of the worst choke moments by a defending champion led by a 3-time MVP...
Jokic let his team down throughout this entire postseason...I don't wanna hear about his stats or triple-doubles, 40-point games, etc.
For the most part, he played mid but good enough to get his stats and squeeze out wins (especially in the first round) in games that should've really been losses, if not for the Laker's coaching and roster incompetence along with Murray hitting a few game-winners. If not for those errors and luck playing a role Denver would've been sent home in the first round.
I mentioned before in the opening of this series against the T-Wolves that playing against a competent team such as Minnesota, that championship fatigue/hangover would finally catch up to them.
I'm glad they lost especially in a humbling manner...I couldn't stand their smug and arrogant attitude, especially from Mike Malone and the insufferable stans/fanbase. It probably won't happen but, I hope Jokic gets crucified for choking back-to-back games the same we criticize other greats for choking in crucial moments.
No it’s not. Playoff series are small sample sizes so a team that’s mediocre could get hot from three and beat a team that won 50 or more games. Or the team that won 50 or more could hit a cold streak. A player may have an outlier series that pushes their team ahead. But all that doesn’t make them the equivalent of a 50 win teamESPN-stat.

Mike Malone at his presser acting like they were the 60s celtics or 90s bulls or some shyt. Like they played deep into June the last 5 years and it finally caught up with them.![]()
