Matter of opinion... I'm pretty sure there's some people who like Dah Shinin' and don't give a shyt about the Ice Cream Man album... I'm just givin' examples of other albums that have been called classic by some, that also didn't get the big rating.

Point is, the supposedly East Coast-biased mag (particularly during the mid-90s) was stingy as shyt about giving out 5's... and at a certain point they weren't givin' it to ANYBODY. East, West, Midwest, or South. So why is the opinion that there was a bias against the West, when their shyt got treated just the same as everybody else's did? And all the while, it's not like a 5 was the only good rating possible. Anything rated 3.5 and up was usually regarded worth a buy. And seeing something get a 4.5 was damn near just like seeing a 5, cause you knew immediately it was a must-have (well, except for when they gave it to Made Men but that's much later when Benzino started goin overboard with the fukkery).

One thing I'll say about those ratings tho'... they sure knew what they were doing when they created that system, cause that shyt stirred up feelings like no other. Even 20 years later, nikkas talkin' about it :whew:

I didn't state my opinion tho. what im saying is that your comparison is faulted because those albums aren't held in the same regard as the ones youre comparing them to.

as far as made men goes, sure it was some bullchit and it didn't deserve a 4.5, but on some real chit, there are albums that got that same rating or higher that weren't any better than the made men joint, if you want to be real.:manny: money well-spent.
