are you slow? :dwillhuh:

Only 1 west coast album originally got 5 mics

tha majority of 5 mic albums were all east coast albums except outkast and bun b

That's tha bias jackass

Maybe they didn't feel that those other albums were worthy of 5 mics. :manny:

i think the biased came in the form of the staff being favorable to a certain style of rap......which more than likely stems from east coast bias, but still.

look at most of the east coast artists that got 5. tribe, de la soul, I think brand Nubian, etc. illmatic halfway fit that mold. outkast always got love from these mags because they were basically native tongue south.

nobody else noticed this?

No one cares about East Coast mags giving WC artist high reviews. Everyone knows the West Side is the best side.

LOL who shytted on NY? Snoop? The same nikka that's been backtracking ever since and swore on everything holy he was never on some beef shyt with New York always had nothing but love for east when he gets called out on it? The same nikka who himself said he would never risk his life in NYC and talk shyt (after getting damn near killed in the trailer for that corny ass NY,NY bullshyt track). Or you talking about Kurupt who supposedly "destroyed" 300 invisible dudes in a freestyle battle who was later in a group with Killah Priest and Canibus?

fukk outta here and stop riding the west coast's dikk, fakkit ass b-more nikka.

This video shows how bias NYC was. Notice how when most of the west coast or southern artist are mentioned in nominations, most people didn't yell, but they yelled when east coast artist were mentioned. I think it was a little bit of jealousy, being that they were selling better then most east coast artist, and feeling like some of those songs weren't real hip hop. I can't front, I was part of that, but when I listened to the music, and stop being biased, it did sound better sonically(clean, and punchy). That is what I think messed the east coast up with a lot of people, the sound wasn't as clear as the south, and west coast. Dr. Dre made it big to me, because he had a little of that east coast knock, but being much cleaner, good dynamic range and clearer. He even stated he was going to prove you can make dirty, gritty hip hop(songs with a thumping bass, and snap), that is clean with the chronic, and he did it to me. The east coast artists who made an album that was clear, and knocking, was "Hell On Earth" by mobb deep. That album was knocking yest still clear, good dynamic range, and clean.

Also, a lot of people weren't into lyrics, as much as NYC heads, they just wanted to dance or hear some gritty tales of the street out into simple lyrics.

It's funny how times have changed. NYC is getting payback from treating others wrong, and getting laughed at from not being the spot for Hip Hop like it used to be, the south is into lyrics, and the west coast is doing the same. The lesson is never shyt on people who want to be down with you, because you might wake a sleeping giant.

:beli: moan, moan, moan, bytch, bytch, bytch.

You're telling me in the height of this beef, if the show was hosted in LA with a predominately west coast audience, the audience wouldn't have been cheering more for west coast acts?

Why did Fat Joe have beef with Ice Cube?

Anybody know?

To where, that's damn-near threadworthy on its own. I never really knew about that, I know Cube had beef with King Sun back in the day, but never heard about no Fat Joe beef.....

Man, stop acting like we was treating everyone fairly. That Welcome to deathrow video @avonbarksdale posted summed it up perfectly. You just don't want to accept it.

So what are you now, the west coast sympathizer or something? Since you say "we" then I'm assuming you're a Ny'er. When these nikkas talk shyt about NY, YOUR ass is included too and they couldn't care less whether you're one of the fair and balanced ones or not. Yeah there's always been some bias from NY obviously, but at the same time nikkas was bumping Pharcyde, Ice Cube, Souls Of Mischief, Dre, and had mad love for them. I remember when some of these rappers used to come over to NY and kick it with no problems. Everybody from NYC wasn't on some biased shyt. If hip hop started out west, they would probably be even more biased.

In all the years I seen way more animosity directed towards NY from the west coast than we have ever expressed towards them. Twenty years later nikkas still can't let go. I mean damn, Kay Slay can go out to cali hoods and damn near show love to everybody, yet west coast nikkas still find a reason to hate. You just have to look around the this forum and everywhere else on the net. shyt, I've seen nikkas crack jokes at an 8 year old girl's death in one thread just because the kid happened to be from NY. That's how deep their hatred goes - all over some music shyt. So tell me who the real haters are?
