That's not stopping Goddell at all. He just needs to slip a few million under the table to the next president and I guarantee they will change the law.

It would need more than a few million since it is tied antitrust laws.

NBA on MLK used to be sacred. Key word: Used to be. The NFL don't give a shyt about your sacred rituals. If they could find a way, they would host a Pro Bowl on 4th of July.

NFL isn't having a playoff game on MLK Day this season.

College football is in the process of ruining itself so Goodell just sees blood in the water.

My only thing is that if it moves to an 18 week schedule, teams need two bye weeks and they need to increase roster counts. Right now the roster is 53,game day active is 46. Dunno what it should be increased to but it needs to go up.

I'm not gonna lie, the NFL starting Labor Day weekend would almost legit make the weekend an NFL holiday.

I know I'm gonna wish I had this upcoming Monday off

They really wouldn't need to. The ratings and fans would speak for themselves. If the NFL thinks they gonna get people in the south to not watch UGA, UF, Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, etc....on opening weekend they are sorely mistaken.
The NFL/AFC title games both had 50+mil viewers

The CFB national title game had 20mil

Only CFB teams that draw anywhere close to NFL are states with no NFL teams .

I'm assuming the top drawing teams are

Texas
Georgia
Bama
Mich
Ohst
USC
Ok

NFL popularity is nationwide CFB outside of 5 teams is regional
