Thanksgiving belongs to the nfl
And Christmas Day belongs to the nba

Both leagues should Stay in their lanes.

NFL games on Christmas Day feel artificial, incongruous and forced anyway. This is an unnecessary Petty cash grab and flex power move by the nfl
Eh, it's the 3 games in 11 days rather than playing on Christmas that's really the 'issue', but even then they already have occasions where a team may play 3 games in 12 days.
There isn't a league out there that would turned down a $150M deal to broadcast their games on a special day. As much as Silver is a pushover to the players he would have them playing on Thanksgiving if Amazon or Netflix were to have thrown the NBA a comparable deal.
That's what business is about. If the NFL 'stayed in its lane', there would never have been the Thursday Night opening game that's a huge draw. If NHL 'stayed in their lane' they wouldn't have the Winter Classic. Leagues evolve because businesses evolve :manny:

NFL put on a great show yesterday IMO. Netflix presentation was almost flawless. Games weren't great but the Chiefs clinched the one seed and Lamar put on a show to put his claim on the MVP. Halftime show looked awesome. It was something for everyone. You can tell the NFL went to great lengths to make the Netflix experience as enjoyable as possible.

NBA had the better day game wise, but again, outside of the NBA bubble, no one cared. LeBron having to remind people that "Christmas is our day" was especially sad and pathetic. NBA has a long way to go to earn back the equity and trust it's burned with sports fans.

This is why I say the NFL is a cult at this point. No matter what happens people will have the game on in the background & support it

Garbage games & still get all the love lol

There has been month long discourse over how “bad” current NBA is & that is why the ratings are low.

Enjoying a product doesn’t a equate to belonging in a cult.

NFL more often than not delivers an enjoyable and entertaining product that appeals to the masses. They also openly respect their fans.

The NBA discourse hasn’t just been a month long discussion. The NBA has openly disrespected fans for years. Once you lose a customer (or millions in the NBA’s case), it takes time to regain the trust back, if they even give the product a second look.

The NBA’s problems didnt start overnight and won’t be solved because the Christmas Day games were actually good for once.
