Why did the 49ers move to Santa Clara anyway? :dwillhuh:

I never understood when teams do things like that we have a big, beautiful city but lets just move the team to the shytty city/suburb a couple miles away and still keep the city in our name.

Why the fukk do the Giants/Jets play in New Jersey? :scust:

You telling me there's no space in Queens or something to build a football stadium? :ld:

its 50 miles away from SF. and about 1.5 hour drive with traffic :wow:

Levi's literally changed the entire identity of that team and fanbase.. one of the all time worst decisions in sports history.

Can't say LA isnt a football town, UCLA and USC(that same stadium) have damn near every seat filled....come saturday
thats fair, I was talking about pro teams, college is a different animal.

USC's football following is legendary. UCLA I think people around/repping it fukk with any sport (bball of course, and football as well) but its a bit more local in terms of football following (and theyve been pretty decent for a while).

but man, I see shytton of people in the bay rep usc on saturdays.

they couldnt agree with the city about the new stadium. $$$

the saddest part is jed is caking like mad from the stadium. it was very cost efficient and not state of the art, thats why the fukking sod is basura and people be having heatstrokes and shyt. plus a lions share of bay area big events automatically go to levi's (see wrestlemania).
considering bay area costs, the stadium is a cow they can milk for years no matter how shyt the 49ers team is on the field.

They could have renovated Candlestick. If they didn't want to renovate Candlestick then they could have demolished Candlestick and build a new stadium at the same site. Meanwhile, the Niners would temporarily play elsewhere.

they was tryna play the taxpayers on the renovation mall/stadium they originally put on the table. it was kinda far back but i think the only one they were willing to agree on was the old naval shipyard but i think they had to do enviornmental cleanup if it was gonna work

As a breh whos born in raised in the city (SF) i appreciate all the "they should have never left sf" comments. But honestly there aint no space to put that shyt.
Coulda built in the same footprint as candlestick. HP/bay view is being gentrified, albeit slower than the rest of the city - which is pretty much completely gentrified, but that shyt is changing. Keeping a stadium there would be fine in the long term. Especially with the new warriors stadium just a few miles up, SF woulda ended up with 3 stadiums/arenas dotting the eastern border, that would be dope.

And it's not like they got some new optimal spot in Santa Clara with a shyt ton of amenities around it. Both were/are in places you'd go to go to the game and that's it. Plus you could at least tailgate at the stick, 80% of the lots at Levi don't allow it, you can't even throw footballs and in the lots for fukk's sake :dead:

Who wants to pay $100 for a ticket and $50 to park, to see a crappy team that just moved there?

There's definitely a contingent, but it's small and it's the older guys who grew up in 70's LA. They need to expand quickly. Not sure it'll happen though
Its not small imo.. And the casual Raider fanbase just started poppin' their heads out a year ago but were nowhere to be seen for the past 12 years. I think its neck n neck as far as Rams and Raider fans in LA. You might think differently but the Rams predate the Dodgers in LA. They started off 85,000 strong at the start of last season until they started playing some of the worst football people have ever seen in the Southland. Most of us continued to be hardcore Raider Nation during the down years but it wasn't really like what you guys are sayin it was during those 13 plus down years. Even part of the Oakland Coliseum is tarped off during Raider games. The Chargers don't have any type of fanbase to speak off in LA

SF fans suck, bottom line.

There's a lot of teams with bad ownership, the turnout isn't this bad.

Our stadium is constantly taken over by opposing fans.

You're right on Harbaugh was the their stumble of greatness and they fukked it up.

this is ridiculous to say. the SF giants sold out every game since 2010 and the warriors have had strong attendance record for years even when they were bad. fact of the matter is ownership made a bunch of decisions that burned bridges with the fans. the days of watching an NFL game live is done. can't wait until it catches up to their ratings as well.
