Show is piff to me. Too many cats hating on the love/sex angle, brehs that's life, love and sex. Especially in the office full of post grad interns. But I forgot, there are zero simps here and everyone is a playa who never catches feelings. The only issue I have is that Danials is supposed to be a Republican but yet he shyts on them every episode. The democratic writers on this show tried but failed, there true colors show every episode. It's even sadder they are doing the preaching while hiding behind 'said republican'.

yea the republican role makes me go :comeon:

sort of agree with work and relationships and have seen similar things happen with family and friends but some of the situations get too corny/sitcomish for laughs/drama...I'll admit it still makes me laugh too. I still don't see how Don could pass up Sloan :whew: Maggie must be doing something right.

:myman:

I agree somewhat with the republican thing. You could swear at times that Will was a Democrat or something. However, I think it's the person he is, he just hates bad politicians regardless of party. He supports repubs/democrats on the show that do their job well and shyts on the ones who don't, they just happen to be republicans. I think it makes his character really interesting, but I see where you coming from.

I think there are a lot of republicans like Will who love their party and what it stood for, but can't fukk with what it's become.

But even then, most of the time it's people coming to her with relationship shyt and she's like :dwillhuh: "Why are you coming to me with this?"

But that's part of the joke/story....the fact that they keep asking her for advice in a field she's terrible with. We're a smart enough audience to remember her social ineptness without her having to explicitly say it. I mean, do some acting...give us the :dwillhuh: face, stammer over some words....or give some hilariously poor advice.....

Dope finale. I enjoyed the first season and looking forward to the next. Kudos to Jeff Daniels, I didn't know he was that great an actor, he should def get some nominations for the role. Shorty that plays Mckenzie should get some noms too, one for being a MILF with a sexy accent.

Yo to everyone not feeling the love triangles and overall relationships between coworkers, u gotta remember the environment these ppl are in, it happens all the time. The show is also realistic, so why not show that element of the newsroom? It's like watching the office and getting mad at Jim n Pam for getting together, it happens. You put ppl in that situation and sparks fly. I already see 4 females on the show I would try to get with if we worked together.

Im glad they kept Terry Crews on the show with Will getting more threats. The relationship they have is hilarious.

Again I wanna give Soarkin props for attacking the government and media like this. There were a lot of brilliant moments on the show and I really hope this goes on for a couple years.

*goes to stalk Olivia Munn on twitter*
nikka shut the fukk up. The show is garbage.

I think the idea is that McAvoy is an old school Republican. He bases his idea on true conservatism in the sense that the Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration are meant to be interpreted in it's perceived literal meaning. I think he hates the fact that the brass of the Republican party are controlled by religious zealots who shun basic thinking and have an aggressive case of anti intellectualism. Think John McCain in the 90's and early 2000's or Specter.

There were numerous mentions of Will being perceived as a RINO (repub in name only) by everyone around him, I don't know why people can't imagine that there are in fact fiscal conservatives that don't want to drink the fundamentalist christian kool-aid being currently passed around that party.

I don't think anyone's doubting that republicans like Will exist, I think folks are chiding the show for hiding behind such a republican to deliver its message.

It would be like a white supremacist org creating a show where a Clarence Thomas shyts on black folks. (an extreme comparison, I know)

one of the craziest and maybe most disgutsing quotes was from the South Carolina Lt. Gov Andre Bauer that I had never heard

he compared poor people to stray animals :pachaha:

“My grandmother was not a highly educated woman, but she told me as a small child to quit feeding stray animals. You know why? Because they breed,” Bauer said during a speech advocating that the government take away assistance to those who do not pass drug tests. “You’re facilitating the problem if you give an animal or a person ample food supply,” Bauer added, according to a report in the Greenville News. “They will reproduce, especially ones that don’t think too much further than that. And so what you’ve got to do is you've got to curtail that type of behavior. They don’t know any better

No that comparison is pretty apt. Gives the show an excuse to make weak, idealistic points about government and media.
