The NBA truly is international. I'm watching the last 2 NBA MVPs play vs one another in FIBA qualifying

I wish the U.S cared more about international competition.

we got guys like Giannis, Jokic, and Luka all going hard for the pride of their countries while our players are doing summer Pro Ams

I'm certain the fact that Soccer is so huge international in these countries has influenced basketball player to feel the same way about playing for your country.

I personally think it's advantage to these other countries, US aint gonna keep throwing teams together and dominate like they used to, we have seen that grip loosen the last 20 years.

What they value is different, American players don’t have the national pride like that

Some international players would rather win a gold for their country than win an NBA title. You’d basically never hear that answer from an American player.

It ain't pride for the country. It's that if those international players don't play their country has no shot of qualifying without them. So they would miss the tournament when the real games started. US players know they gonna qualify regardless so it's no point playing in qualifiers if you a star.
