I'd watch it too if it ever happened but I kind of like the idea of some things strictly being for the big screen, MI is one of those franchises that still give me that thrill of going to the movies, maybe due to the nostalgia factor. Don't get me wrong I'm a HUGE fan of good series, but I think it's two different environments that don't necessarily need to meet.

which is wild when you think about it, critically and commercially it's a great series for what it is, James Bond doesn't even hold a candle to it.

No doubt. If MI was made into a tv show it would wear thin quickly. A huge part of the MI appeal is that we only get a movie every few years.

In general I think Tom Cruise did a good job of realizing what people like and appreciate about him, and he basically only does passion projects at this point. He stays out of the spotlight unless it's MI or Top Gun or something like that.

MI is definitely not an IP that people really care about outside of Tom Cruise. If there was a show without him in it, I can't see many people caring for long.
