Basically the recognition from the basketball world as to who is the reigning best in the game...Kawhi has it right now...the media REFUSED to give it to KD... KD mentioned out his own mouth that it bothered him...pretty much anytime in the history of the league a player dominated in the finals the way KD did in back to back title runs, they'd b tripping over themselves crowning him... The narratives built around GS prevented him from getting the acclaim he deserved...he let that get to him and was gassed into some "I'll bring a chip to new York" narrative that imo is gonna fail miserably and prematurely broke up y'all dynasty

Idk a lot of people were calling him the best from like game 3 in 17 to when he got hurt. If he didn’t get hurt and the Dubs won with him dominating like he was the crown would have been solidified.

Idk how much credit the media can take for this. I know he listens but at the end of the day nobody can make you do anything you weren’t already thinking about doing.

Reading the articles it honestly seems like part of the problem was that there wasn’t really anything that forced the team to band together. Zach Lowe has an article talking about this saying he never felt more apart of the team than when they won game 7 at Houston. They were more just about maintaining dominance than striving for it and that gets to be a grind.

So it’s off to new challenges.

Because I don’t kno how u feel

Receipts?
saying nothing is saying everything in your case. That’s just today I done see you not answer that question or say like we wasn’t gone win unless we had kd Numerous of times.

Can't work overtime without something to work with. Were they playing an active role or were they just calling it what is was. The media was calling "KD and Kyrie to NY" all year long. Low and behold him and Kyrie ended up in NY (different part but the point still stands). Did the media make them do it or did they just report the smoke that was clearly associated with a fire?

Everyone involved played their own part. KD never tried to shut the noise down. He actually invited the shyt, talking about he was gonna be transparent all season. He was disrespected in a manner we have never seen a player of his caliber and resume disrespected by people in his own org and it was done right to his face in public. You can say Myers was joking all day but every joke ain't funny. Beyond that, humor is based in truth. Same thing with the Dray shyt. You can blow that off as "heat of the moment" thing that was said in anger. But people generally don't lie when they are angry. No, that's when you pull that shyt out that you been waiting for the right time to say. And once again, Draymond was right on, as KD left just like everyone said he was going to.

KD left for the same reason he came...validation and bonding. The nikka that sold that candy in his ear got to talking crazy and was ready to put his ass on the stroll so he moved on to the next one.

They say you lose them the same way you get them.....

Still can't believe how hard the media rode against GS for the past few years, this last one being a crescendo...but it worked.

The bolded is 100.

I understand that we are all extra sensitive when it comes to our own teams but come on breh. How exactly did the media in general ride against GSW? Of course they had detractors, like every public entity. But did the media really ride against them? Are we sure we aren't just killing the messenger here?

Like I said....

As time went on,” he says, “I started to realize I’m just different from the rest of the guys. It’s not a bad thing. Just my circumstances and how I came up in the league. And on top of that, the media always looked at it like KD and the Warriors. So it’s like nobody could get a full acceptance of me there.”
