"The Matrix" and "The Matrix" Reloaded" are classics. People hate on "Reloaded" like it wasn't well received. That's not true, it broke records it's opening weekend for an "R" movie. Sure there were some who didn't like better than the original but that movie had kids sneaking in to see it. It was one of the most anticipated sequels in Film History. It still stands 10 years later as one of the Top 3 action movies that have come out since then period. The Highway scene, Trinity going against traffic. Neo fighting all the smiths. Neo fighting in the Chatau.
If the edited to about 2 1/2 hours and took the best stuff from "Reloaded" and "Revolutions" it could of been even a better sequel. But like "Empire Strikes Back" it had a cliffhanger ending so people wanted more and it just ended abruptly. Honestly even though "Revolutions" was average, it's still a Classic Trilogy. People hated on the Archetict scene but now it's one of the most broken down and anaylzed scenes of the entire trilogy. I love "Reloaded" cause it did what Classic sequels do. It took the story further, it raised the stakes for the heroes and Neo was in GOD MODE. Keanu fighting ability was off the chain in the 2nd film also. I loved "Reloaded". It wasn't perfect, yes the Rave/Sex Scene was a little overblown but you know how the Wachoski's do but nothing tops the original "Matrix". The soundtrack in "Reloaded" was fire too:
