The Mass Effect series has the best story/lore in any game I've ever played

Think about everything that goes on in this game. All of the different races and their history. Its mind blowing how Bioware has literally created an entire fictional universe with history that rivals Earths actual history.

The Asari being the 1st to find the citadel and prothean/reaper technology.




The Salarians traveling to Earth when humans were still evolving which is where the humans got the entire big eyed alien myths from and cave paintings of ufos and aliens.

The human-turian war.

Krogan genocide

Quarian-geth war

The entire Reaper backstory and history

the hanar-prothean religious relationship

The Batarians being a kind of black people representation with their home planet being destroyed and them being forced to live on planets that are not their own. Plus them hating the superior races.

Think about all of the races in this game, including the extinct ones and think about the detailed stories of their rise and fall and everything in between. Its amazing.

Think about all of the planets in each system and the story that is connected to each one.


Too much to name

I've sat through each cutscene and have read every information log in the menu on every subject and am just blown away by the detail put into this series.

I never though I'd find a game with a lore better than Halos but ME is one of a kind. It needs to be a movie series but I know it'd be terrible as all video game to movie films are.


I can't wait till 2017 brehs. Bioware needs to feed the streets with a trilogy remake

I didn't mean individual game stories. I mean the entire game history. Like if you were to combine it all into a book, it would be amazing

It does a very mature and adult look at a universe.

But the race relations (especially the Krogans) makes things regrettably relatable

My small issue with 2 was the scaled back RPG elements though the shooting and combat was amazing. Biotic Charge combos.

I didn't buy how Cereberus was alluded to be this Evil Corp in 1 and in the 2nd game, everything they did is swept under the rug to Shepard. A new whip and body will make you change I guess.

ME2 nearly nailed it of having an all around great cast but Miranda(GOAT skills though) and Jack were boring.

yeah I agree. 2 was great overall game but 1 created/birthed the mystique/mystery in the story. So imo it cannot be beat because the mystery was revealed during 2 and 3 as the story got progressive worst and is no longer new and mysterious . 1 blew my mind because it made me wonder who the reapers were and how they came to be, etc.

Definitely would but you need to play it on PC if you want to toss out a lot of the outdated BS the game has like extreme loading times, slow texture pop in, and gamebreaking glitches. You should cop the ME1/2/3 pack they got for 20

I was referring to the pc version since i game mostly on PC.

That last sale on 1 and 2 ended already so you should get 1/2/3 on Origin or if it's worth saving 10 then have it shipped to you. I don't want you to be like me and never get the chance to play 3.

I played the demo of it and the game was fire but I never caught the game by itself on a decent sale.

Funny this thread pops up while I'm going through my annual run through of the trilogy. Its my favorite series of all time, well top 5 but I love ME.


ME3 online was poping when it dropped, caught ppl off guard.

Yeah it would. It plays the most like a rpg outta the trilogy. Still looks great too
