This is my problem.

They could've cut it and not said shyt.

Now, this becomes another one of these conversations in this weird ass industry.

I obviously not against the change. Just make a fukking game and stop with the moralizing--especially with all the fukk shyt going on in the gaming industry.

I get it, and wouldn't have minded at all if that's how they handled it.

But by the same token, with how things are now, if they had done the press they did last week detailing all the changes they're making, and not have addressed that, there'd be thinkpieces and tweets with that same screenshot of her bent over with some shyt like "remasters need to confront video games' past of objectification and sexism". Then any changes they'd made would be framed as a "limp response to online calls for changing the series' history of objectification". You know that goes. shyt, they're already catching heat from people online because they didn't add more queer romance options into the games this go 'round. There's really no winning in this situation.

So, they should cut this out, too.

:francis: Again, let's be consistent. There's also a scene where Fem-Shep looks Jacob up and down as she's coming on to him pretty hard, and that's in some of the earlier convos.

Overall one could argue the entire romance system is "problematic" with the head officer of a military vessel fukking his/her subordinates.

It's a "social layup" without actually tackling a real issue.

SJW prove over and over they have a pretty narrow view of the world.

They want more trans and homosexual sexual representation, but, they demand the toning down of heterosexual expression.

They can't even use the "women don't wanna see Miranda's butt" argument because that (should be, with their logic) would be considered homophobic.

My position; it's a non issue.

Yeah, you lost me with the SJW shyt.

Y'all just as bad as the people that try to go too hard in the other direction. Heterosexuality will be just fine, regardless of what happens in a fukking 10 year old video game. :mjlol:

But I will agree that the real solution is that relationships in video games just plain need to be designed better. Ultimately, no matter how it's written, it's effectively just a storyline with a reward at the end. If people are serious about making these things better, that whole loop needs change.

Just like adopt words like "problematic" because it's used so much, don't try to box me out because I used a word you don't like ("SJW").

:beli:

Don't act like muhfukkas that tweet alot don't get compared to actual champions of black people and people in general.

This generation to full of "paper champions." Ain't shyt changing, but, people get praise for "change."

This is actually a great point. I made it on the ME reddit (:beli: you're prolly gonna "miss me" for this even though Twitter is worst) last year and got killed.

I just thought the relationships could be better in future games.

ME:A did absolutely nothing to expand on ME mechanics, including relationships.

  1. Flirt
  2. Flirt
  3. Flirt
  4. Dialogue Lock
  5. fukk 'em before the last mission.

Nah, breh. I don't usually write folks off just for a difference of opinion (Unless we're talking about some obvious stuff like racism, or diddling kids or some shyt). A conversation can still be had. I just think that the conversation on both sides of this could be toned down. Ultimately, everybody deserves to have representation, but not getting EXACTLY what you want out of a video game isn't the end of the world, since ultimately, it's just a video game. Won't stop folks from getting heated for no reason, though. People getting mad at them for not putting in more queer romance options in these old ass games, for example (which really starts down the rabbit hole of a question of just how much work people are expecting Bioware to add to their already heavy dev workload).

But that list of relationship strings is spot on. Only stiff you forgot:

The part where you give them a gift (always positioned as "How'd you know!? :ohhh:", as if getting the thing an entire interaction string was centered around is hard work)

The part where you run some mission to get their loyalty BEFORE rearranging their walls.

Because as games have shown us, absolutely every stable, meaningful relationship is totally just a quid pro quo situation. :mjlol:

I don't have a problem with gay people in the game. I didn't have a problem with Abby's sex scene in LOU2. I didn't have a problem with Claire in CP77.

:beli:

But, I see a pattern in media where they want to tone down anything heterosexual men would be "aroused" by like they are Sunday School teachers.

Then, they get liberal and progressive on Lesbian, Gay and Trans sexuality in media.

For example; Finn and Po were two straight guys, but, because they were such good friend, the immediate suggestion is that Disney has to make them gay and make them more romantic.

That's where I draw the line on pandering.

I didn't forget. I'd always give Ashley that book that she mentions in the first game.

But, after playing through the series so much, the relationship part always seems so unevolved and bland when so much is done elsewhere.

For example, you can romances Ashley through all three games and she still sits in that damn room the entire game and gives you robotic dialogue about the mission you just had. Nothing else. You don't even built upon the convos you had on ME1 outside of the Lock-In Convo you have on the Cidatel.
They could've done like GTA:SA and had special bonuses based on if you brought your "Paramour" on the active squad. But, that's asking a lot.

They don't have that much dialogue (Tali brings it up if you bring your SO on the Geth Ship mission, Mordin mentions sex with your SO in ME2, etc.).

It's not bad, just a little shallow after a few playthroughs.

I just want them to expand on it. I rather that convo than "They show Miranda's butt too much."

I really don't understand people being this upset about seeing less of Miranda's ass.

Getting all worked up about some e-cheeks they ain't clapping in real life. :mjlol:

It's the pandering most people are getting mad about, yeah it's weirdos complaining about the butts, but more so the pandering to feminists n shyt

Why the need to change it at all? It's not even than serious and they're just taking time away from more important things like updating the graphics, physics and animations. I might not even buy this shyt because it's not gone take advantage of PS5 hardware. fukk I look like playing a PS3.5 game?:unimpressed:

EA/Bioware are terrible anyway.

Y'all always right off SJW talking points as mumbo jumbo.

All I'll say is make an account on Resetera. You won't last 1 week. As corny as 'SJW' and 'Feminist' talking points sound, that shyt is real. Look up gamergate for another good example

:mindblown:Why do they always get made out to be the majority? (no directing that at you, moreso adding on)

Seriously, what was the last game that was expected to well, flop, because incels wouldn't buy it because of women being in it?

Cyberpunk let you being a woman with a penis. 8 million sold in a week.

All the Abby shyt. LOU2. Greatest Sales in PS history.

Tomb Raider wasn't a smash hit, but, it did relatively well and had a whole damn trilogy--it was financially mismanaged, I believe Shadow of the Tomb Raider is like one of the most expensive developments of the generation.

Horizon Zero Dawn. A brand new, original IP. It's one of the best reviewed games in the generation and highly touted and the sequel is highly anticipated. You play as a damn teenaged girl.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Only about a third of the people played as Cassandra. But, ANY TIME I see the game talked about with male gamers, they always refer to their gameplay via Cassandra. I don't know what the cutscene look like if you play as her brother.

People make it seem like 50% of all gamers are red bill neck beard incels. The average gamer is a 30 year old man, prolly with a wife and kid and regular job.

Yes, men like pretty women. It's not like every game is Dead or Alive.

The sexism amongst the fanbases and actual buyers is fukking overstated.

I be telling dudes it be the pandering that get's the fanbase mad. Then they say we overreacting about 'SJW' and we sound like MAGA cacs.:unimpressed:

That SJW Feminist shyt is real. Go to resetera and read up on gamergate. Hell look at where the journalists graduate from, Liberal colleges speaking that LGBT SJW shyt:hubie:

Their goal is to make women in video games look non sexualized because something, something 'men'. Weirdos stressing about pixels on a tv screen?:unimpressed:

Why are they so focused and wasting time on changing butt scenes? Shouldn't they be focused on upgrading the graphics, animations, and load times? Weirdo shyt. This will most likely be a half assed remaster and I didn't buy a PS5 to buy half assed shyt. When it drops to $20 in a couple months I'll pick it up.:ehh:

I didn't realize who Neal Druckman was til the controversy last year. Dude is a little nuts.

I would say; overall it's harmless compared to the other bullshyt in gaming, but, it still makes gaming less fun.

The feminist/liberal shyt in gaming is just a smaller issue in the overall problem with men and women just simply relating to each other in a larger space.

Oh yea; I bought Dead or Alive 6 last year....

:yeshrug:

The women are bad as shyt (Tina:mjgrin:) but the game is mechanically better and more dense than MK11 which is my favorite fighting game of this era. It's a great game that goes a little overboard with the jiggle physics.

No spoilers but the whole thing with Miranda is you notice her looks particularly her booty first. Then you get to know her over the story and see it's deeper than that (if you cared to interact with her).

They're kinda taking away that initial reaction to her. Admit it, first time you peeped you was like :banderas:

Not a big deal though in the end.
