Let's see...
Jeff Loria and the Marlins' organization get approved for a stadium that cost $634 million to build which the city paid a HUGE part for... and got the cash upfront.
Then they signed some big time players (Jose Reyes, Mark Buerhle, Heath Bell) in order to boost morale and interest and therefore garnering ticket sales...
After a failing season due to high hopes, they have now traded: Hanley Ramirez, Jose Reyes, Mark Buehrle, Josh Johnson, and Emilio Bonifacio. With Reyes & Buerhle after only ONE year.
Meanwhile, the city of Miami still has to pay for that stadium while the Marlins got from a $117 million payroll before the season to a $17 million payroll after it.
If that ain't a money making business, I don't know what is. Jeff Loria said fukk a win. That is some money laundering, shrewd-type activity.
I really don't know if I'm laughing or impressed.
