that was Malachi the Nutcracker. He wasn't that good of a rapper and we all know why. Primo said he made him a rapper as a favor to keep him out of jail in court. The beats carried the album though. And yes Livin Proof is considered a classic. The beats were so dope that it carred the album of 2 rappers that weren't the best lyrically.Word.
I heard ppl not like the Group Home album. Even Preemo said one rapper quit and became a boxer.
Mop said Preem gave them the best beats.
From all the joints I heard it was great.
Is that Group home album considered a classic?
I never heard it front to back but heard several joints a tonne.
I'm studying certain albums now. Literally typing notes out.

This is my fave album of theirs, before this they were good but this one stepped it up a notch IMO and was a bit "Darker" then the earlier albums. The production was stepped up on this one too, Premo absolutely blacked out on this album (Around this whole time with Jeru and Group Home as well) so he was on his shyt in the mid 90s.

fukk man. The city scenes in this video are crazy with the neon lights. And Guru looks focused when he raps.
Not to compare, but I feel Dr. Dre messed up his career with not releasing Dre music.
Motherfukker hurt me by not releasing music! Lol
I only fukk with Dre up to 2000. 1992 being the best.
fukk is wrong with him?
He acts like he's the G - and he was but why not be the G on whole albums? He could do that! But didn't from 2000-2024 - flexing his crib and headphones and billions.
Look at how consistent Premier was.
More so than even RZA.
Preemo could be the greatest producer ever.
He stayed with his signature sound - and made JUST the right adjustments along the way.
Minor ones.
He's incredible, true greatness on so many levels!
What do you think of Dr. Dre's career?
Dre had different interests than Preemo, he pushed hip hop into MAINSTREAM culture, not music, culture. His involvement with NWA, Snoop, Nate Dogg, Pac, Eminem, 50cent, The Game has no rival in the field. To me he is the greatest figure in rap OF ALL TIMES.
Premier focused strictly on the music side of things and produced for 3 undisputed GOATS, but his output after his golden years hasn't been that amazing either.
Dre probably felt like he achieved everything he needed by 2000 so he moved over into other stuff.
Without Dre producing for Gwen Stefani I don't think Preem hooks up with Aguilera...
It's a long discussion but they are both in the pantheon without question. As far as music, it's just personal preference, Preem is more "real hip hop" while Dre is on some " bang their heads off" steez
