Nah, it literally comes down to the debate they had, there was no beef beforehand. Sam was heavy on the idea that you couldn't afford to protest vote in a competitive state, mainly because of the Supreme Court. He's been railing on the importance of the courts for as long as I've watched him. He literally attends and covers a Torts conference in Vegas each year because it's such a key issue to him. They never crossed paths over Russia and didn't go heavy on the Russia coverage at all. The main stance was "The Russia thing looks like it has some legs but don't let it distract you from ALL this other crap" which they covered in far more depth. The only person attacking Sam about his Russia coverage was Michael Tracey who went in on Sam for interviewing Marcy Wheeler about her direct involvement in the Russia case once (a second time since Tracey's attacks to give her a chance to defend herself).
Also...that clip is Michael Brooks interviewing and Klion's commenting and he's literally trying to find out what's BS and what actually has legs. That's about the extent of what they typically did when they'd talk about it. "This sounds like it could be something...this stuff not so much."
