LOX kinda went low-budget with the production outside of pete rock and primo. dame grease is known as well from his work with DMX back in the day.

Nowhere near the quality it could be though considering their talent and status in the game.

Only album from the collective that stands out to me is Gangsta and a Gentleman.

I haven't really checked for much else albums wise from them after that.

last jadakiss mixtape #T5DOA (mixtape edition) and LP (#T5DOA) were dope IMO

I agree the lyrics are there (that was never their weakness) but as a whole project..outside a handful of tracks, felt uninspired. Production is what kills it, mostly.

I might've been self hyping but when they posted pics w/ Tim, Blaze, etc. I expected something on those levels.

But then again I've only listened once...gonna listen more to let it sink in

I agree the lyrics are there (that was never their weakness) but as a whole project..outside a handful of tracks, felt uninspired. Production is what kills it, mostly.

I might've been self hyping but when they posted pics w/ Tim, Blaze, etc. I expected something on those levels.

i think this is just an appetizer for the real project, that's why those big name producers ain't on it like Timbo, Just Blaze, etc this is a glorified mixtape at most. i'm liking it so far tho.

this is more of a mixtape than an album, kind of what Dave East put out Kairi Chanel and is following up with another album for next year. i'm not sure why rappers keep doing this, they need to let the real projects just drop already.

true, but it's been too long for them since releasing a project with them 3 on it, i think they just testing the waters first then they will drop a real album. we did see them with Jay earlier this year, i think we'll get songs with them guys together for a real project. notice it's not many features on here, knowing them they would have a DMX feature on here too. they did announce We Are The Streets 2 so it's possible.

Not too sure I believe that appetizer view, they're promoting it like an album, but they might cop out and call it a mixtape if it's received poorly.

Even if they are keeping the "better" songs for the "real" album, they should've at least taken this one more seriously.

My thing is this.....for a group that has been doing solo projects for the better part of the last 15+ years....a group album should have been an event. Lyrics are there like others have said, but the album production wise is a huge let down. It's one of those albums that should have been "an event/huge deal" for the fans and i think it just dissapoints.
