The Lost City of Atlantis=Mauritania?

I don't necessarily believe Atlantis was located there but they make interesting case for it to make you wonder. At the least it should be in discussions as a possibility. Racist cacs would NOT like that though; a booming hub & advanced civilization that they've made movies & books from that was African; lol

Interesting. Was ready to be extremely skeptical but a lot of compelling arguments. Would definitely be worth further researches and whatnot, if only to understand what exactly that structure is. I'm not familiar at all with the whole Atlantis story (I know the basics, but haven't really done any reading on it) but I do have a question : from what I read, it's Plato who brought out the info (now I learn the Egyptians passed that info to Solon). My question is, if Atlantis was such an extraordinary place, how come there aren't more sources about it? I mean that area of the world (Mediterranean extended) is home to tons of civilizations since the beginning of humanity, and it's hard to imagine that there were not OTHER civilizations close/in contact with Atlantis that would not have any record of it. Maybe what I'm saying makes no sense for reasons I ignore, but I find it strange that only Egyptians (and later, Plato) would have any kind of info on another civilisation.

I mean, Atlantis would've been destroyed about 11,600 years ago right? That's a few thousand years before prehistory ended. Who else was popping that early at the time of its destruction and stable enough to last to transmit a coherent tale about it?

Even if Atlantis was in Africa it will be ignored. The powers that be have done a tremendous job suppressing African history. They've done everything they can to whitewash Egyptian history (i.e.: hollywood movies starring white people, cutting off the noses of Egyptian statues)

I like the point he brought up about Wiki locking down the Atlantis topic & not allowing any editing of it. Watching part 2 I get the feeling he knows why
but doesn't want to upset any potential fans being that this site's in Africa & dates back thousands of years when the population back then would most definitely be African

If you actual read Plato, you'd know that Atlantis fukking sinks... because it's ruled by a corrupt tyranny that overthrows the democracy.
Kind of like how Athens was a democracy overthrown by tyrants, which descended into chaos and bloodshed ultimately leading in the murder of Socrates.

Your premise makes sense, except for the fact that I think that the story of Atlantis is attributed to the Egyptians. Like other things that were from Egypt it later became attributable to Greece and it may have been re-purposed for another time and civilization.
Second of all many scholars have always theorized that Egypt itself was a part of a larger empire. Egypt was generally considered the outpost of that empire. So that might explain why Egypt itself was so advanced and so old.
I do agree with you though that Atlantis is likely an allegorical tale. However, the rise of Egypt does lend credence to the notion that there was an older civilization before it.
