Thaose who choose the path of wickedness hope for a reward on earth and most of the time it is granted however it may not be what the asker wants.
Those who choose the path of righteousness hope for a reward in the afterlife and face persecution for the wicked and their minions.
Those who utilize the power of the good when pleasant for them and bad when it suits them are not in control of their destinie and gain no reward in the afterlife or on earth.

I believe that the choice of goodness is worth it for me personally. I'm a firm believer that life has no value if we aren't kind and helpful to one another. Wickedness and selfishness isn't worth the earthly spoils. But that is me being on a moral high horse I suppose. The satisfaction that I get when I do what's right by people even tho I may suffer for it is good enough for me. I'd rather be a kind and good person than a selfish wicked man.
