My fam always ask "when you going to put those degrees to use" my mother always asking "when you going to give me grandkids" They seem to think I just live leisurely without a care in the world when truthfully I live every waking moment thinking about those very questions. They don't think I wake up everyday putting in job applications so I can hopefully get an interview and walk into a white man's office and beg him for the opportunity to make a living after I invested 7+ plus years at some university so that I can have some form of stability which may lead me to attaining a black queen(that is worth building with) who sees me as a leader(that's not really a leader because I still answer to someone else) So that we may give our future offspring a more successful chance at life so that he doesn't repeat the same redundant cycle his parents before him led.
They don't think I look at every sister walking the streets seeking a potential mate who has the qualities fit to carry the next generation so it's a successful next generation instead of constantly adding to the confused,misled,hurt,neglected generation that I came from who had to find out after they wasted their youth that society isn't exactly what school and older generations led them to believe.My point is back the fukk up I'm trying to move through this maze you refused to finish, you can't question me about the answer when you yourself never finished so let me try to figure this shyt out my way so I'm not left questioning the next generations decision because I lacked the willpower and fortitude to do what needs to be done.
I will not bring a child into this world if I'm not 100% my safety net will be able to handle every fukking inconsistency within their lives, I will not work a job/career that has me being 56 running out the door after working 30+ years because "they gon fukk with me" I'm not built like that, I wasn't made to answer to an oppressor I can't tolerate bullshyt and fakeness money may lead society but it doesn't lead me, not to the point were I will jeopardize myself. I will not grow old and fear that my job will harass me because I'm getting close to drawing my retirement, I won't be hounded by newer workers who hope they can force me to quit or put myself in a position where higher ups can fire me.
I refuse to play that game, this is the new generation of black men and women, we do shyt differently and kissing ass and dying without a word is last gen shyt
