A relative tried to guilt trip me into making a funeral donation for someone I never really had a relationship with. The person who died is my dad's nephew, even lived in my house when i was young kid, and we share a last name. But I aint seen or heard from dude in 10+ years when he died, and I havent heard/seen my dad in 5 years.

Anyway, so adistant cousin I grew up with hit me up on FB under the false pretense of catching up, then was like

Him: "Well, I'm gonna put you and ya wife down for a $100 donation. You can choose to pay me back or not" :yeshrug:
Me: Wait, what? :dahell:
Him: I'm just being politically correct, its gonna look bad if none of your dad's kids don't donate. :patrice:
Me: Nah, don't put nothing in my name. :childplease:

I felt like if my pops wanted to reach out for a donation, he can humble himself and talk to me directly so I can say "fukk no" to his face.

Am I being petty? Am I wrong? Not that I care, lol.

Ol girl who posted before says you can't pick ya family. I beg to differ. Blood just don't make you family in my eyes. :stopitslime:

My aunt did something kinda similar and stupid. Didn't say a word to any of us at the wake or the funeral and then emailed my only uncle that doesn't live in baltimore with a spreadsheet attached that had the amount everyone needed to pay and a due date lmao. Of course her name was filed out with the amount she had paid. We didn't even bother responding to her.

LMAO. People got some cot dayum nerve, I swear. My cousin was not expecting my answer, he probably thought I'd give in when he was like "I dont want you or your brothers to look bad". In my mind I was like "NAH, let me look bad. I can deal with the consequences, cuz there won't be any."
