Gradual. "Love" at first sight seems more based on looks. I can have a crush on someone simply because he's cute but it's very brief and doesn't last long. I always end up liking the person I get to know.
A perfect example would be two soldiers during training that had the same last name. One was extremelyattractive, stupid fine and he was friendly but kinda slow.
The other soldier was shorter and plain looking and I had been cool with him but didn't really start liking until our one on one conversations. I played myself tho because I kinda made it obvious I liked him but didn't say anything, instead I acted like a giggling fangirl idiot. Eventually he started hanging out more with this ugly cacette with big boobs and I removed myself from his social circle
